Born Kefee Obaseki Don Momoh, Keffe passed on Friday morning at an undisclosed hospital in the United States.
Contrary to general belief that she was pregnant at the time of her death, her management, has denied pregnancy or eclampsia as the cause of her death, rather it was said that she died of lung failure.
This came less than a week after a doctor's statement that Kefee will need a miracle to survive, having been diagnosed for eclampsia, a risk women face during pregnancy, if the blood pressure is not properly managed.
Kefee passed on after being in coma for weeks in an undisclosed American hospital.
Meanwhile, torrents of sympathisers have been sending condolence messages on the social media and many indeed claim that Keffe's death "is a huge blow to the gospel and entertainment industry."
She had embarked on a 14-hour flight to Chicago, United States for an event when she went into coma, forcing the plane to land in Los Angeles, so that she could be urgently attended to.
Kefee whose music career started at age eight in her church as a chorister, was famous for her gospel songs 'Branama' and 'Kokoroko.' She won several awards including the best collaboration, Headies Award in 2010.
Until her death, she resided happily with her husband in the US and managed her restaurant, Branama Kitchen, in Lagos.
