Headies 2015 full award list


The 10th edition of Headies annual ceremony, celebrating the Nigerian music talent has come and gone with a lot of Drama following the beef of the year between Olamide and Don Jazzy.

The event was held at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos and was being hosted by Nigerian comedian, Bovi and dance queen, Kaffy. 
The event was originally scheduled to hold on December 30, 2015 but was postponed to January 1, 2016.

Below is the full list of winners of the exciting Headies awards which held last night in Lagos at the Oriental hotel Lagos.

Super Eagles arrives South Africa for training



According to Vanguard, The Super Eagles ‘B’ team arrived South Africa yesterday and met up with coach Sunday Oliseh in Cape Town, officials have disclosed.

Ailing Oliseh was not part of the Eagles training camp in Abuja, but has now arrived South Africa for the final leg of the team’s build-up for the CHAN in Rwanda.

Twenty three players are in the training camp in South Africa and except for injury, all the players were named in the final squad for the tournament open only for those who are based in their various home leagues. However, Lobi Stars defender Samson Gbadebo will only join up with the rest of the squad early next week as his entry visa is being processed.

Christmas celebration and wearing of Santa Claus hat banned in Brunei, South East Asia



  All forms of Christmas celebration, including the wearing of Santa Claus hats have been banned in Brunei, South East Asia. Public participation by either its Muslim or non-Muslim populace has been declared a serious offense which could lead to five years jail sentence.

After objections by the non-Muslim population which comprises of 32 percent of their 420,000 population, permission was given for them to celebrate in their own little communities, but strictly without the involvement of the Muslims.

First transgender partners in Ecuador expecting first baby





This couple is about to become the first transgender partners in Ecuador and they are three months pregnant.

A 33- year old transgender woman, Diane who used to be a ‘man’ is expecting a baby with her partner of two years. Her partner, Fernando who is also a trangender, now male but used to be female. Neither of them has gone through reconstructive surgery to change their sexual organs.

They both met online two years ago and were happy to share the news with the rest of the world via Facebook.

The President of Living Faith Church Worldwide a.k.a Winners' Chapel, Dr. David Oyedepo, towards the end of the last encounter night at Shiloh 2015 announced the 100,000 seat capacity stadium-like church which is known as "Faith Theater".
The stadium-like church among other things, it is said to seat 100,000 adults and 10,000 children.

Lil Wayne has been sued again by a woman who claims the rapper used her image to sell his popular Trukfit clothing line. She claims she never agreed to work with his company and thinks he represents "misogyny".

In her legal documents, Shanise Taylor admits she's not a professional model but remembers posing for a 2011 photo session, and when the photog sent her the shots she figured that was the end of that. Then this year, she saw one of the pics pop up on a shirt made by Trukfit, a Weezy clothing line.

Nigerian deported from UK narrates his story

The United Kingdom has deported 50 Nigerians after having committed different offenses while in the country. The deportees, made of 44 males and six females arrived into Nigeria aboard a chartered B767 aircraft belonging to PITAN Airways.

The federal government had recently expressed concern over the UK’s plan to deport some 29,000 of its nationals demanding that due process be followed before any Nigerian is sent back from the UK.

Obasanjo congratulated Jonathan for successful handover to Buhari

Almost six months after the change of government, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has for the first time congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan for successfully handing over to President Muhammadu Buhari and commended him for continuing to have faith in Nigeria.

Obasanjo’s commendation was contained in his reply to President Jonathan’s earlier notification of his plans to establish a foundation following the end of his term in office as president.

Jonathan had in a letter dated September 22, 2015, formally notified Obasanjo of his intention to set up a foundation to promote good works.

JAMB registrar, Mr. Dibu Ojerinde, faulted the Nigerian senate’s call For UTME result

JAMB registrar, Mr. Dibu Ojerinde, has faulted the Nigerian senate’s call for that UTME results be valid for 3 years.

According to him, such a policy would delay and obstruct the education progress of students across board.

Obama pardons Thanksgiving's "Turkey"


President Barack Obama “pardoned” the TOTUS — the Turkey of the United States — in an annual White House Thanksgiving ceremony on Wednesday.

“America is after all a country of second chances, and this turkey has earned a second chance to live out the rest of his life comfortably,” Mr. Obama said.

Then, the president waved his hands over the fortunate fowl named Abe in a gesture that resembled a blessing, while the bird clucked and cooed.

Roli Bode George appointed as acting Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA

MRS Roli Bode George has been appointed as the first woman acting Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, following the retirement of Alhaji Ahmadu Giade who has bowed out after serving 10 years in the agency.

The chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ahmadu Giade, on Wednesday 25th of November retired after 10 years in charge after serving two 5-year terms.
This was made known by the agency’s spokesperson, Mr Mitchel Ofoyeju announced this in Lagos.

It said Giade, who served two terms of five years each, handed over the affairs of the NDLEA to the Director- General (DG) of the Agency, Mrs Roli Bode-George, The News Nigeria reports.
According to the statement the former chairman inspected a guard of honour after which he presented a new flag to the D-G.

The statement said:

Police: S. Korea professor forces student to eat faeces

A South Korean court on Thursday jailed a university professor for 12 years for forcing a student to eat human faeces and drink urine during a two-year period of physical and psychological assault.

The sentence was two years more than had been demanded by prosecutors, reflecting, the court said, “unimaginable atrocities” committed by the 52-year-old professor that had amounted “to a sort of psychological murder”.

The professor, identified only by his surname Jang, was arrested in July after his victim — a design student now aged 29 — attempted to commit suicide to escape his ordeal.
