President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2016 budget to the National Assembly todaay, before a joint session of both the Senate and the House of Representatives today, December 22, 2015.
1. “This budget is the platform for putting more Nigerians to work.”
2. “The problem we face today shall not confront our children and their children. This shall be our legacy.”
3. “Petrol price remains at N87 per litre for now.”
4. “Current fuel scarcity is unfortunate result of speculators and resistance to change.”
5. “We are carefully accessing our exchange rate regime.”
6. “If the Nigerian economy is to move away from dependence on oil, our growth must be inclusive.”
7. “We will recover everything that belongs to Nigeria -No matter where it is hidden & no matter how long it will take.”
8. “Already the compilation of the poorest persons is going on for conditional cash transfer.”
9. “We will not betray the trust reposed in us.”
10. “By the grace of God and sheer will of Nigerians we will come out stronger and more united.”
